well that’s anticlimactic
I just passed 1000 comments on the old blog here and number one thousand was one of those stupid trackback comments on one of my previous posts. I was hoping it’d be some lucky blogfan who I could give some useless prize to!
Oh well.

Actually that was comment 1003 and this is 1004. There were multiple trackback comments on that DB post.

Seriously, trackback is the worst. It’s right up there with myspace and downloadable ringtones.

trackback comments don’t even make sense. the reader is just sitting there like “huhwah?”

Trackback comments actually make sense when they come from other websites–you can easily see who else is citing your blog posts, but the self-referral (which I do a lot because, after all, I’m really into me) trackback doesn’t make much sense.

Yeah, except nobody gives a crap about who is citing your blog posts (especially when it’s you). That’s what referrer logs are for.
