they’re cheap, but…
Glasses in Taiwan are cheap, cheap enough that even though my company just introduced a vision plan, decent frames here might well still be cheaper taking in consideration the co-pay and price limit on the vision plan glasses.
So I went out last night and walked through a few spectacle stores.
But, like I said before so many glasses just suck. Oh well.

Some friends of ours told us that they always buy their glasses online and never pay more than $30. My wife looked into it and I think she’s about to order some glasses for about that price from: http://zennioptical.com/
You have to get your eye doctor to measure the distance between your pupils for fitting purposes, but other than that, it seems pretty straightforward. If you’re interested, I’ll let you know how it turns out for Heather.

There’s also mathowie’s entry on 43 Folders about buying eyeglasses online –

It’s a dual problem: 1) a lot of glasses suck and 2) I don’t often know what I won’t like until I try them on and say, nope.
