quick thanksgiving sandwich
There are places that serve a thanksgiving sandwich all year around but mine is a bit different from what I’ve seen. here’s exactly what I’m using.
- whole wheat nut bread
- trader joe’s dried cranberries
- light cream cheese
- dinner roast deli turkey (this is pretty thick compared to say deli ham)
Spread a light layer of cream cheese on one half of the bread. Put a solid layer of the dried cranberries. Add a couple slices of turkey on and you’re done.
I’ve been making this every morning this week and it takes probably under two minutes and they taste pretty good. The sweetness of the dried cranberries is nice to offset the turkey and the cream cheese makes sure it isn’t too dry.

You do know that it’s December, right?
I’m a huge fan of the thanksgiving wrap/burrito.
Turkey (of course), stuffing, and can-shaped cranberry sauce are required. The rest is up to taste – corn, green beans, mashed/sweet potatoes, beets (!@), or whatever else. Wrap it all up in a tortilla, and you’re golden.

I originally meant to make this with the left-overs, only to discover that we went through our left over turkey very quickly so I didn’t have any to make sandwiches with.
And not only that but I felt like I wanted them anyway, so I bought some turkey (I had the rest of the stuff already) at the deli and now I have thanksgiving sandwiches.
