hot thursdays
Me and the roomies have decided we’re going to try not heating our house in order to save money on the utilities and to just be badass like that.
But, in order to give us a break and something to look forward to, we’re going to heat one day a week. Behold Hot Thursdays.
I can’t wait till Hot Thursday. It’s freezing in here.

Dude – I did that with Scott Salus a few years ago for the first few months of a New Jersey winter and WHOA – the results were very unpleasant. I dig the name though.

it doesn’t look freezing to me! … although surprisingly this looks pretty similar
last winter we kept the thermostat around 62 and our heating bills still got up around $300. I’m quite glad to have heat included in my rent this year!

Good idea. How cold does Palo Alto get during January and February? My uncle gave me a space heater that I’m sure will be running in my bedroom while the rest of the house is in the 50’s.

It’s not all that cold here in the winter. Low in the 30s on the really bad nights. However in the land of cardboard walls and single-pane windows, most places don’t insulate well. I can feel the cold streaming in off of the window right by my head.
