3 songs or albums that I like whose titles include a state name and a cardinal direction:
- All Hail West Texas by the Mountain Goats
- “East Virginia”, version by Damien Jurado
- “Sodom, South Georgia” by Iron & Wine
Any “North”-state songs or albums? North Carolina or Dakota don’t count. Any other examples for the other (already given) cardinal directions?

With a little cheating from the interweb I found the following:
“East of Indiana” by Jennifer Kimball
“West of Texas” by the Frustrators
and (the only song I’ve actually heard of, by artists I’ve heard of):
“North to Alaska” by Johnny Horton; Hank Jr.; Box Car Willie and a load of others.
Maybe I misunderstood your post and you’re looking for titles that refer to an actual REGION of a state, like “east virginia” — rather than just putting cardinal directions and states together, as in “north to alaska.”

I was thinking of songs that have cardinal direction-state right in a row, but I didn’t actually say that…
Another one I thought of that’s sort of an honorary one is “Girl from North Country” by Dylan.
But the lack of examples with North in it make me want to write a song called something like “Coming home from North Ohio” or something like that.
